Simplicity.

When we crave simplicity, we are not after an easier life. We are after life. – Dave Bruno.

We have a humble little home. Yes, 7 bustling acres, but a humble little home.

And we love it like that.

Our house is quiet. It took some adjusting at first…but when the days are long and full, its such a blessing to have a home that is quiet and slow.

We have no plans to install a TV, but we do joke about “Country TV.” From our living room couch, you can see into the backyard through the full glass door. So you have this little snippet of the yard, and it’s so peaceful to sit in the living room together just talking, and occasionally a chicken will run past our little view of the yard. Like I said, it’s slow. We joke about how people would think that we are weird- just sitting in our living room, talking, no tv on, and being entertained by chickens moving past our little view every once in awhile- that’s a big action scene for Country TV.

More than anything, I appreciate that the pace of our lives at home have truly fallen in line with our genuine priorities. It’s slow, and wonderful.

Our days are ranked on quality time- together, with Luke and Logan, and just quality time with ourselves as human beings. Beings. Not doings. Beings.

Not to get too gruesome, but when the circle of life plays out in your home on a regular basis, there is a significant amount of emotional processing that has to occur, also on a regular basis.

Our simple little lives make generous room for quality time in the full experience of the human reality.

For us, our humble little house is a contributing factor to fully maximizing our lives, and empowering us to focus on what matters to us most.
