The porch days have begun!
What a joy to pause from the homestead list and simply sit under the sun-hand in hand with Farmer Jim, dogs laying down in the shade, chickens exploring the yard, and all of us enjoying the moment.
I really like to go, go, go (“Slave Driver” has unfortunately been a nickname thrown around on more than once occasion). Thankfully, the other heartbeats on this slice of heaven remind me what joy there is in stopping for a second to simply “be” and enjoy.
It is glorious to pause and look out at our property and remember all that has happened here, and to think about all that we still hope to do.
There have been big moments on this property- engagement and marriage, new life/ death/burial of our beloved pets, and regular daily wonderful memories of our three years here. And when we sit here long enough to just pause and enjoy it – this Homestead Momma has been known to shed tears of gratitude.
How wonderful to live in daily awe of of our regular wonderful lives- and to intentionally pause to just soak it all up on these slow-moving porch days.
