We are so thankful for the long hours of daylight during the week after work.
Spring and Summer turns nearly every evening of the week into a partial weekend. After a long, cold, dark winter- the glory of daylight after work is not wasted on us.
Our evenings are simple, and wonderful. We come to life here at this little homestead- plants and animals included. Spring and summer might be my favorite memory making time.
The other entity that comes to life in the Spring and Summer is our camera. In the winter I perform the homestead duties as quickly as possible, and get my wet cold little self back inside. But when the seasons change- the camera frequently gets brought out for even simple poultry and gardening duties, because everything is more lovely and I am much more inclined to go slow and enjoy the process.
Even the walk out is a process to enjoy when it is sunny and warm out! Logan’s year round habit is walking in front of you to make you pause, then throwing himself down and turn belly-up and reveal where he would prefer you to start petting, please and thank you. He is a pretty irresistible massive 2 year old puppy, and we all enjoy snuggle time with him.
